Let her go

I was reading Chetan Bhagat's recent book, "One Indian Girl".
The story is nicely narrated, and there was a song the protagonist of the story was referring to:
It is "Let her Go" from Passenger!

The song has beautiful and "Meaningful" lyrics. I love it.

Hence, thought of sharing it.
Thanks Chetan Bhagat for introducing this song, and I love this line: "Only know you love her when you let her go."

Here is the song lyrics :

Well, you only need the light when it's burning low,
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow,
Only know you love her when you let her go.

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go...
And you let her go.

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow, and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow, and it goes so fast

Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
Cause you loved her too much, and you dived too deep

Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go ooooh ooooh oh no

And you let her go
oh no

Well you let her go

Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go!

Shreya Ghosal

There are people who can speak multiple languages fluently, but singing in multiple languages is not that easy.
Only few legends have done that in Indian music industry; S P Balasubramanyam is the king in this art! There are some others as well; Chitra, Sujatha, Chinmayi, Karthik, etc to name a few.

But these people, they are not singing in all the languages that frequently as our protagonist does!
She is such an amazing singer, that she performs in almost 5 different languages in parallel...

If the name is not Shreya Ghosal, It will not be possible.

Her uniqueness is that she sings so properly in the south indian languages, even though she is a North indian! The words with 'zh' sound in malayalam, or the 'la', 'LA', 'zha' difference in tamil, or the very hard scripts of telugu, everything is like walk in the cake for her, These words are very much difficult, as even some south indians can't pronounce it correctly.

But she gets down with the lyricist, get the reading in hindi, translate and understand the meaning of it, and finally, produce it with much easiness, that one would think she is really belong to their native the song she just sang from!

The book she keeps with her in the recording spot, is having all her songs written in hindi, that she is so perfect, If she once sang a song in any particular language, for sure she will perform the song in upcoming stage shows without even looking at the lyrics! Now, that's some enthusiasm! I bet no one ever have shown this kinda enthusiasm towards music...

Added some of her multi lingual songs.
Have a look and say it justifies my point :)

Partnerships...

Victory can be felt, tasted, and achieved by two ways in my opinion :
1. By believe in yourself, with full of courage and strength.
2. By "together we build" partnerships

The first approach here is not possible for all the people. We are humans after all and we are not supernatural to keep all the issues and struggles away, only by ourselves. Some people tend to prefer this, but they are the ones who are stamped as "extra-ordinary".

Hence, I prefer the partnerships. It's a two way win-win situation.
Together we achieve our goals and stand shoulder to shoulder in every step we go up.
This is the best way to keep your stress away, and enjoy the success casually, and not to keep anything personal with the obstacle creators, because you have your partner there to talk and laugh about it!

Partnerships often made successful return. Be it a business, or a sport, or even in life.

Recently a partnership in music leads the charts of tamil cinema!
They are none other than, D. Imman and Shreya Goshal!

they are enjoying the songs they work together, and yet, individually Imaan is one of the leading promising music director, and Shreya is without doubt the queen of female vocalists currently we have in total Indian music industry!

When this lovely combo work together, the songs make magic! Even though the critic Imaan has for repeating the same kinda music, We tend to love the voice in shreya and the melody in Imaan's music!

In my personal view, a movie or a song should give us entertainment and feel. I prefer watching colourful, village oriented, scenic cinema than the ones of our big heros'. The reason is, it is a feeling of passing a cloudy cold mountain way in bike; It is the cup of coffee you have alone in a corner of a beautiful village; It is the time of happiness you spend with good people, good friends.

If these real things are captured in a film, then that's way better film than the un natural heroic films. And for these type of films, melody is the key with BGM. Imaan can score cent percent in this scenario! Adding shreya's voice? Pitch perfect!

This is what we see in recent years in their combination :

  • Unnai Mathiri - Durai
  • Neeyum Naanum - Mynah
  • Sollitaley Ava Kaadhala -Kumki
  • Sahaayane - Saatai
  • Ammadi Ammadi - Desingu Raja
  • Kandaangi Kandaangi - Jilla
  • Pidikkudhae - Sigaram thodu
  • Sundari Pennae - oru oorula rendu rajaa
  • Yengirindhu Vandhaayo - Kayal
  • Yen Aala Paakkaporaen - Kayal
  • Koodha Kaathu - Vellaikkaara thurai
  • Gaana Gaana - 10 enrathukkulla
  • Mirutha Mirutha - miruthan
  • Onnapola - Vetrivel
  • Pothavillaye - Mudinja ivana pudi
  • Pona Usuru Vanthurichu - Thodari
  • Oorellam Kekkude - Thodari
  • Yenadi - Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay
  • Kanna Kaattu Podhum - Rekka
  • Adada Adada - Veera Sivaji
Some of the above mentioned combo songs have other partnerships too, for instance, most of the songs had been composed for Prabu solomon's movies, who does the movies so lively! THen its a partnership of three there.

Another wonderful thing is, the making of song video they release! It gives us that happy feel when listening to the songs in live action, not like someone lip sync it.

Check out some of the making of videos added below :

Recently, this one from Rekka, is going to be a huge victory partnership, as these too joining hands with VJ Sethupathi!

All the best for Imaan and Shreya for their future endeavors!

Two nations I admire

These are the two nations I admire in the whole world!
God, look how their anthems written!!!

Wanna see this lands be peace makers to the rest of the world, and cherish in years to come with all success!

Long live Tasman and Transman, Australia and New Zealand!

Australian Anthem :

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in Nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
"Advance Australia fair!"

Beneath our radiant southern Cross,
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"

New Zealand Anthem :

God of Nations at Thy feet,
In the bonds of love we meet,
Hear our voices, we entreat,
God defend our free land.
Guard Pacific's triple star
From the shafts of strife and war,
Make her praises heard afar,
God defend New Zealand.

Men of every creed and race,
Gather here before Thy face,
Asking Thee to bless this place,
God defend our free land.
From dissension, envy, hate,
And corruption guard our state,
Make our country good and great,
God defend New Zealand.

Peace, not war, shall be our boast,
But, should foes assail our coast,
Make us then a mighty host,
God defend our free land.
Lord of battles in Thy might,
Put our enemies to flight,
Let our cause be just and right,
God defend New Zealand.

Let our love for Thee increase,
May Thy blessings never cease,
Give us plenty, give us peace,
God defend our free land.
From dishonour and from shame,
Guard our country's spotless name,
Crown her with immortal fame,
God defend New Zealand.

May our mountains ever be
Freedom's ramparts on the sea,
Make us faithful unto Thee,
God defend our free land.
Guide her in the nations' van,
Preaching love and truth to man,
Working out Thy glorious plan,
God defend New Zealand.

Beautiful evening in Pointpedro

Took some snaps from the munai beach - point pedro.

Waiting for life!

Transport medium - Old and New!

Closer look of transport mediums...

Sometimes the beauty of life is just reflections of the past!

Boat - not sinking yet!

World is so wide, don't waste your time being in sides!

Wherever you go, come back to your home at the end...

Life is like the sea rocks... so uncertain they are!

Even the sunset gives you a new dawn!

Almighty's woodworks are far better than the human's!

A different angle, didn't it look like the anchor for the ships?

Panorama eye of a natural church. People attending the evening mass.

objects in the mirror are closer than they appear!

Palmyrah trees and Coconut trees - the identity of Jaffna

The lazy buggar!

hope is bright in eyes!

It's your birthday

Yet another Birthday of yours... without you...

I really wanna be away from disturbing you, just wanna keep the texts which I take hours to type, to be in my drafts forever...
I have that much emotions to express, but as how I am, it's not working out for me to show it out. Because I wanna keep that frame of "Being strong". Reality sucks, I know I'm already bits and pieces in the absence of you.

But, I love your courage, I like your strength...
You are being a strong woman, I can't stop appreciating you even you broke up with me!

If I say you mean the word for me, that's an understatement. The emotions caused by these hormones makes me still be awake at midnight to wish you...

I couldn't send the whole text I have written, but just wanna wish you, just like a stranger or a guy who you know for short time... and yet I sent "Happy Birthday"

You can't understand the feel of being lost, waiting to hear at least a hint, that you have read my message or it got delivered.

I know the result as well, but I won't stop loving you...
truly,deeply, and madly...

Happy Birthday my Love!

My Musing!

I'm always wondering, why are they calling women as weaker sex!
Women are equal to men in all terms, physically, mentally, and in all other means.
The stone-age period is over, and here we have only one kind of society, society that has humans...
Therefore, one can't label women as weaker in any way.
Hence I have a concern, even the feminists all over the world would agree with my above statement, then why men have to get up from their seats when a woman walk into the bus? Being elder is a different story, they can't stand in the bus, but why would a guy have to get up and give his seat to a girl who just walked in? Being a respectful gentleman doesn't mean he has to get up, because male and female are equal, rite? All guys do this because they consider women as weaker sex, and they shouldn't do this...
Another thing, this "ladies first" concept is also because of the same issue I reckon, If both men and women are treated equally, then why there is a "first" among them?
So lets chill and enjoy in earth as equal people, not to disrespect other's values.

When this world was created (By god they say!), there believed to be only 4 types of people,  according to the researches;
Those who lived by mountains, hunters.
Those who lived between mountains and land-sides, shepherds.
Those who lived in land-sides, farmers.
Those who lived by seasides, fishermen.

Notedly, these were divided into four by the occupation they have done.
In the current world, those who does these four occupations, and those who live by these areas without much development, are considered to be of low caste people!
World is so polluted and history is mostly written by the ones who were in the better side of the story, therefore they made an identity that they are high caste and stamped those who are lost as low caste!
But to be frank, if the first men are from low caste, aren't we all low caste?!
Lets understand there's no such thing as caste, its just our stubborn minds.
When we realize that we are not dictators to others, at the same time not less to anyone else, then we can feel the humanity.

We are all one! Peace

~Shanan.

Malayalam Movies!

About last 3 or 4 months or so, I got number of malayalam movies to watch, than tamil/english movies.
If I tell the truth, it is the reality drama, which is so encouraging to see, than watching unrealistic movies in other languages.

The best thing I like about the malayalam movies are, the locations! They are so lovely and suits to the plot and circumstance of the story narrated!
For instance, take the orphanage showed in the movie Charlie, that area is nicely captured with green fields, cool weather, and with good camera angles when zooming the people in there.

Another movie, Kali, Shows the night life exemplarily, the restaurant and its surroundings are captured under required light conditions.

In Charlie again, the Goa festival was recorded astonishingly! The audience would have felt that they were in there physically! I guess this is the first movie which showed the festival in its best.

The other good thing about Kerala cinema is, the plot is not only romance! I think its safe to say, tamil cinema is fully into love concept. But malayalam movies talk much about some other concepts. For example, Kali is about a guy who is going through stress affected mentality. Oru vadakkan selfie is about social media's problems a normal girl could face. Its healthy cinema I feel, than being into a single concept and praise the hero!
The movie Action hero Bijju made me to conclude, that all the police officers I have seen in tamil cinema are unreal! Check this movie and you would agree with me. This guy Nivin acted as a normal police guy who we meet usually at police station, who don't roar like a lion, who can't even catch 2 guys at the same time, can't fight with 20 rowdies, but the perfect police guy.

These are the movies I have watched recently, and this makes me watch more and more kerala cinema:

1. Charlie
2. 100 Days of Love
3. Kali
4. King Liar
5. Oru Vadakkan Selfie
6. Action Hero Bijju

Random lyrics...

Missing you...

Having fun with friends is awesome.
Going places and finding the nature's beauty, feeling the warmth, catching the breezy air in the seasides... Surfing and swimming in swimming pools and Oceans... Everything is so cool... Showing the importance of living.

But,

In some corner of the Heart, gets a pain...
How good it would be if you are also there with me to witness these...
Finding us in every couple passes by in resorts, and feeling we would have also ended up like this...
The dreams of how and where should we go and explore the world with this tiny word,
Love...

But everything stays as dream....

Every minute that found to be beautiful, needs your nearness to be full-filled...
But as always, I stay as person who needs everything to the satisfactory, but never gets it!

You are the most precious thing happened ever in my life, and that too will stay, ever!

The Goddess

(Falcon)

They have beaten the falcon!

Yes, he is talking about God here, not the romance between lovers.

Looking forward to AYM. Thanks GVM to have ARR and Thamarai mash up. Need more of these in years to come!

Gone are the days....

Never felt this much numb before...

Earlier it was A R Rahman's soothing romantic melodies and Raaja's rare fast beat songs that made my life.
And now, it is the freaking Linking Park, Eminem...
oh yeah, Taylor swift too, only the sad ones...
And at times, Ed Sheeran! What is wrong with me, have I ever imagined I would listen to Ed Sheeran?

Yeah you told me, when we had a fight the other day, the other year, "Listen to this song from Ed Sheeran, I fear we might end up like this"...
I was like, "You silly, we will be together, forever!"

Did you really mean it that time, my love?

When I was studying average, you made me study more,
when I was targeting the class topper, you were there with me, encouraging me,
When I got promoted at office, you were the first one to know that, and that joy you have passed made me think of go more higher and higher....

But now, I feel empty, the willingness to perform is drastically dropped.
I don't care about innovations... How come I'm an apple fan?
Easily giving up on any tasks... How come I'm an Aussie fan?
All these days I was thinking the sports teams and their attitudes reflected in me,
But the reality is, YOU have reflected in my every blood and vein.
I was a big fan of YOU, and since you have gone, my attitudes also have gone.

People around me are supporting me, encouraging me...
having awesome friends who I will never forget in life, having good siblings, but their encouragement is not bringing back the real me...
It is just YOU I want, to get the real ME back,
and I'm worried I might not get myself back again.

Is Love that Powerful....
Ask a person who failed, He will tell you the power of Love!

Technically I should be happy, but once saw a change in her profile and saw her pics,

My whole body is shivering, my lungs losing air, heart beating very fast...

Is this because of I saw her after years?

Or because of the fact she is no more mine?

Or is it because she has changed a lot and look so beautiful and she hates me now?

If you name this feel, this lost in translation feel,

Year starts with AYM!

The magic combination of ARR + STR + GVM!

Yet again a romance, to make us lost in there,
for the people who really don't have a life as that
to atleast dream of it and enjoy!!!

don't go away my dear, don't ask me to go away too...
